Football News has managed to uncover more details as to how exactly the transfer saga of new Dynamo Kiev player Younes Belhanda panned out.
First of all, it has emerged that despite English tabloid reports that Newcastle United were in for Belhanda, the club never formulated an actual offer to present to Montpellier.
Aston Villa did in fact make an offer, and Younes Belhanda would have preferred a move to England, but the Premier League club was unwilling to pay over €10m and Montpellier therefore rejected the Villans’ approaches.
Neither AC nor Inter Milan made an offer for Belhanda. Al Jazeera Sporting Club offered the player the most money out of any of the offers he received, but Belhanda had no interest in departing there.
Dynamo Kiev offered the second highest wage packet behind Al Jazeera, and these are the only two clubs that Montpellier had accepted bids from for Belhanda.
This is how Belhanda arrived at his decision.
