21:00: So, after another fascinating day of Ligue 1 action, with 12 goals in just 5 games, it is time for me to say goodbye. Until next time, Au Revoir!
20:56: In the other game, Lorient put in a brilliant performance to crush 10 man Evian 4-0 away from home. Hard to believe based on that performance that Lorient are down in 17th place…
20:54: So, we have had four 1-1 draws today. Lyon held by Valenciennes, Montpellier unfortunate to draw against Guingamp, Sochaux held by Bastia after 2 disallowed goals and Rennes and Bordeaux play out an even draw.
20:51: FULL TIME SCORES: Lyon 1-1 VAFC, Sochaux 1-1 Bastia, Montpellier 1-1 Guingamp, Rennes 1-1 Bordeaux, Evian 0-4 Lorient.
20:49: Free kick in a brilliant position for Sochaux… but Landreau saves brilliantly!
20:47: Rennes want a penalty after some real pinball in the Bordeaux goal, but the referee is unmoved. Good decision in my opinion.
20:46: 5 minutes of added time for either Montpellier or Guingamp to fins the winning goal. Lyon vs Valenciennes also in the balance.
20:44: GOAL: Evian 0-4 Lorient (Jouffre). They want more! Lorient pile on the misery on Evian as Jouffre scores from the spot, finishing into the bottom corner.
20:41: GOAL: Evian 0-3 Lorient (Diallo). The away side complete the rout with a third goal. They have been much better than Evian today, and fully deserve the 3 points. Diallo grabs his second of his season.
20:38: What a miss! Fofana, just a few yards from goal, manages to clear the crossbar completely with his shot! Really should have put Lyon in front there.
20:35: Crazy few minutes there in Ligue 1 – goals galore! Sochaux look really pumped up at the moment, the disallowed goals are spurring them on. They look dangerous.
20:33: GOAL: Montpellier 1-1 Guingamp (Giresse penalty). Guingamp equalise from the spot through Giresse. Montpellier do not deserve to be pegged back, but there was nothing wrong with the penalty decision itself and the finish, low into the right hand corner. Guingamp back in the game.
20:32: GOAL: Sochaux 1-1 Bastia (Mayuka). Nothing wrong with this one! Mayuka finishing cleverly. Sochaux definitely deserve to be level in my opinion, they have been excellent in the second half.
20:30: To be fair to Evian, they are trying very hard, even 2 goals down and with 10 men, to get back into this game. Lorient looking comfortable though, and can expose the extra man on the counter.
20:26: GOAL: Montpellier 1-0 Guingamp (Cabella). The home side take a deserved lead through Remy Cabella. They were hard done by with the disallowed goal, but they now have the lead and look good for the win.
20:24: GOAL: Lyon 1-1 Valenciennes (Bahebeck). What a goal this is! Bahebeck curls in an absolute beauty from wide on the left to level against Valenciennes. I told you they looked dangerous…
20:21: Disallowed goal: We have yet another disallowed goal, but this time for Montpellier! The ball clearly crosses the line, but the goal is not given and Guingamp survive. Still 0-0 in that one.
20:20: GOAL: Rennes 1-1 Bordeaux (Diabaté). What a reply! Within a minute of going behind, Bordeaux draw level through Diabaté! As they say, you are most vulnerable after you score!
20:19: GOAL: Rennes 1-0 Bordeaux (Kana-Biyik). The defender powers in a header after pinball in the Bordeax box. But wait a second…
20:16: Red Card: Ehret is sent off for Evian, who are down to 10 men. It was a very bad tackle on Ecuele-Manga, who needs treatment, and surely Evian now have no chance of getting something from this game.
20:14: In other news, we haven’t had any second half goals so far. Lyon really pressing for a second against Valenciennes, but the away side do look dangerous too…
20:09: Disallowed goal: Bizarre scenes at Sochaux now! The referee denies the home side a second time in 5 minutes! Landreau leaves his goal to help the injured Corchia, and Sochaux take advantage to score into an empty net. However, the referee refuses to allow the goal. It may not have been moral, but I don’t see what rule was being broken there… Sochaux absolutely fuming.
20:05: Disallowed goal: Sochaux have a goal chalked off for what appears to be a foul on Landreau in the Bastia goal, but replays show it was his own defender who made the contact. Sochaux rightly furious.
20:03: KICK OFF: We are back underway in all 5 games.
19:52: So, at half time, Lorient, Lyon and Bastia have the lead. Montpellier will feel unlucky not to be ahead against Guingamp, while Rennes and Bordeaux are well matched so far. If Evian want to get something from their game, they will have to improve massively.
19:47: HALF TIME SCORES: Evian 0-2 Lorient, Lyon 1-0 VAFC, Sochaux 0-1 Bastia, Rennes 0-0 Bordeaux, Montpellier 0-0 Guingamp.
19:45: Decent header flies towards goal for Montpellier off of the head of Montano, but once again that man Ndy Assembe is there to save low down to his left.
19:42: Sochaux have a decent chance with a free-kick out on the right, but Landreau does very well to punch the ball away and out of danger.
19:39: Lorient not playing like a team in 16th place today… Aside from Aboubakar’s 2 goals, they could easily have had another 2 or 3. Evian’s fans are not happy at all with the performance, boos are ringing around the ground.
19:37: Close: Bafetimbi Gomis almost doubles Lyon’s lead, but his shot is well saved by Chaigneau in the Valenciennes goal. Lyon pressing for the second goal.
19:35: Guingamp coming into this game more and more now. Ndy Assembe has been excellent in goal so far, resisting Montpellier’s early domination. Beauvue just comes within an inch of scoring, but his free header is off target.
19:32: GOAL: Sochaux 0-1 Bastia (Boudebouz). The former Sochaux player, who even scored for them at the start of the season, scores for Bastia. It is a decent goal as well, as he finishes smartly low into the bottom right hand corner of the goal.
19:29: Chance: Valenciennes have their first decent chance of the game as they break and suddenly have a 4 on 3 situation, but Pujol shoots a little selfishly straight into Vercoutre’s hands.
19:26: Alessandrini looks in trouble at the moment… He is limping around on the wing… Worrying for Rennes, but it looks like he could still carry on.
19:23: Evian trying to get back into the game, but they look flat and keep wasting possession, with Mensah the latest culprit. From that counter, Lorient go close once more and once more it is Aboubakar.
19:20: Little to talk about so far in Rennes vs Bordeaux – no chances of note and a very scrappy game so far. Both teams are mid-table at the moment, and they look to be very well matched.
19:16: GOAL: Lyon 1-0 Valenciennes (Gomis). The much maligned Bafetimbi Gomis puts his side in front against Valenciennes after find work from Gourcuff. The home side deserve their lead, they have been dominating Valenciennes so far.
19:14: GOAL: Evian 0-2 Lorient (Aboubakar). Aboubakar already has a double within just 15 minutes! Lorient 2-0 in front, and they now have a 2 goal cushion.
19:12: Montpellier in a similar position as Lyon against Guingamp – they are in control but have nothing to show. They win a corner, but it goes out harmlessly for a goal kick.
19:09: Lyon dominating the opening exchanges against Valenciennes as you would expect, but no real chances of note yet.
19:06: GOAL: Evian 0-1 Lorient (Aboubakar). The away side are in front after just 5 minutes! It is a good finish by Aboubakar which gives his Lorient side an important goal to start the game.
19:03: Lively starts all round, especially in the Montpellier-Guingamp game, but still goalless in all games.
19:00: KICK-OFF: We are underway at all the grounds!
18:55: Final 5: Just 5 minutes to go now until kick-off, and the teams are out on the pitches. Also an important day at the top of the table, with Lyon in action today against Valenciennes.
18:50: We have 4 of the bottom 5 teams playing today: Valenciennes, Sochaux, Lorient and Montpellier. It could be a very important day at the bottom of Ligue 1 today, with Sochaux in particular in danger of being cut adrift at the bottom.
18:45: Round up: In today’s earlier kick-off, PSG extended their lead at the top of the table with a 3-0 away victory against Rennes. Menez, Lucas and Ibra with the goals, and the champions are looking dangerously strong at the moment…
18:42: Bastia team vs Sochaux: Landreau – Diakité, Modesto, Harek, Palmieri – Cahuzac, Romaric – Krasic, Boudebouz, Khazri – Bruno.
18:42: Sochaux team vs Bastia: Pouplin – Corchia, Peybernes, Carlao, Boumal – Contout, Prcic, Nogueira, Dias – Bakambu, Mayuka.

18:40: Rennes team vs Bordeaux: Costil – Danzé, Kana-Biyik, Armand, M’Bengue – Konradsen, Makoun – Hunou, Kadir, Alessandrini – Oliveira.
18:39: Guingamp team vs Montpellier: Ndy Assembe – Lévêque, Kerbrat, Sorbon, Lemaître – Beauvue, Atik, Sankharé, Giresse – Mandanne, Langil.
18:39: Montpellier team vs Guingamp: Jourdren – Congré, Hilton, Marveaux, El Kaoutari – Saïhi, Stambouli – Camara, Cabella, Sanson – Montano.

18:30: Welcome everyone to another Saturday of Ligue 1 action. After the heroics of the French national team in midweek, which teams can use the buzz around French football to their advantage? We have 5 games today: Evian vs Lorient, Lyon vs Valenciennes, Montpellier vs Guingamp, Rennes vs Bordeaux and Sochaux vs Bastia. Team news coming up shortly…
