Highly-rated Auxerre winger Paul-Georges Ntep has confirmed via his Instagram account that he has played his last home game for the club last week.
He has this morning confirmed on Telefoot that he has already rejected an offer from a Qatari side who were offering him wages worth €1.5m net per year.
Ntep remained grounded however: ‘I have a long time if I want to play for just money. That can wait.’
With leading figures in world football including the likes of Arsene Wenger suggesting that Ntep could become ‘a future great’, it is perhaps unsurprising that the player has decided to move on from France’s 2nd division. His future destination is however unclear.
British tabloids have been linking the player to AS Roma and Auxerre, while Football News is aware of three French clubs that have been in contact with the player in the past month.
More undoubtedly to follow.
