One of the most hotly contested Ligue 1 summer transfer sagas is nearing its conclusion. Evian’s versatile attacking midfielder Saber Khilfa has announced he will be joining Montpellier.
Khilfa this evening has told the listeners of radio station Shems FM that he will be officially signing for the Ligue 1 Champions of 2011-2012 imminently.
Saber Khilfa explained the specifics of the transfer: ‘Montpellier and Evian have agreed a fee. All that is left is for me to agree a contract which should happen soon. A Montpellier player is being used in the deal too.’
‘Marseille’s interest in me is what sparked the whole thing off.’
Evian are expected to receive at least €2m cash despite the fact that they will also receive a Montpellier player.
