Sochaux’s young right back Sebastien Corchia had agreed on a move to Lyon, but President Aulas has refused to complete a deal after Sochaux demanded around €5.5 Million. His future is now in doubt and with a move away from Sochaux still looking possible, keep up with the latest updates here:
Tuesday 9th July 2013:
Aulas has now explained that the fee wanted by Sochaux was too high for the player and that is why they opted for Miguel Lopes from Sporting Lisbon instead.
Monday 8th July 2013:
Corchia had this to say on the move breaking down and suggested that a move abroad is now possible:
“I do not understand why Lyon could not just pay €250k more! Now I look abroad, my agents are working….I do not understand Lyon’s position. When I met Remi Garde at the training ground he said I was 1st choice.”
Since these comments, Corchia has been linked with moves to Benfica and Sevilla, although there is no evidence of any contact.
We, Football News, now understand that Sebastien Corchia’s agents will contact Arsenal to see if they are still interested in signing the player. Arsenal agreed a relegation dependant release clause with Corchia this season, but as Sochaux did not go down, the clause never stood.
