Arles Avignon, the Ligue 2 side, have contacted the veteran striker Mamadou Niang over a possible transfer this summer. 34 year old Niang is apparently keen to finish his career in France, and is open to a move to Arles Avignon.
Arles Avignon président Marcel Salerno told La Provence:
‘I’ve talked to his agent and the player himself. The player is not hostile to the idea of coming. He is not uninterested and we can not say we’re not interested … He knows Avignon, where he has made real estate investments in the past.
‘But the case is far from being tied. The positive for us is that it is not looking for a big contract. The proposed terms (a two year contract)? I can not deny it. That may be where we are more interested than others.’
