Arsenal remain patient as Bacary Sagna’s silence over contract extension talks are becoming more and more worrying for the London club.
Right-back Bacary Sagna has still yet to commit to a contract extension with Arsenal with little over a month of his current deal remaining.
Manager Arsene Wenger told the press yesterday:
“[talks] aren’t progressing. We know what we want, he knows what is on the table that is where we are. The ball is not in our camp anymore, it is in his camp, and he needs to come back to us.”
Football News has learnt that the French international remains in talks with Serie A side Inter Milan. The Italian side have offered Sagna a very generous wage which they hope will compensate for the fact that they cannot offer top-tier continental football next season.
Turkish side Fenerbahce have entered the negotiating fray according to L’Equipe this morning, a side that could potentially offer Sagna Champions League football next season. Talks are very advanced according to the French paper.
Arsenal’s pursuit of Toulouse FC right-back Serge Aurier remains likely, with the player’s agent in regular contact with the London club’s representatives.
