Football News has learnt that FC Metz striker Diafra Sakho will be leaving the club at the end of the season, despite their promotion to Ligue 1 being almost certain for next campaign.
The 24 year old out-and-out attacker has amused Metz staff in recent weeks by actually asking them for footage of his performances, presumably to hand to possible suitors.
According to France Football, Olympique de Marseille will be looking for a striker this summer and Sakho could provide them with a relatively cheap solution, without a single current Marseille forward’s future secure.
Football News can reveal that Newcastle United have contacted the player’s entourage about a possible transfer, although he is not their main target for this summer transfer window.
A move to the Bundesliga is also an ever-increasing possibility, with Wolfsburg and Schalke looking to recruit from the growing hotbed of talent that French football is currently providing in summertime.
