Finally, the deal is done! After years of speculation about whether he was worth the money, about just how much it would take to lure the star to France, the deal is complete! Messi has finally signed… for Clermont. That’s right, Junior Messi Enguene has signed for Clermont. Who did you have in mind?
Jokes aside, Football News reported earlier today that young Cameroonian midfielder Junior Messi Enguene had signed for Ligue 2 side Clermont. The 20-year-old has very little first team experience and is still very much a raw talent, but if he is guided correctly by the Ligue 2 side who currently sit in mid-table, they could have an exciting prospect on their hands.
In many ways, if Clermont plan to integrate Junior Messi Enguene into their first team immediately, it is a very risky strategy. The attacking midfielder has only played 12 professional games in his career, so it is unlikely that he will immediately be a sensation at the club. If, as will probably be the case, Clermont ease him into the side, they may have a midfielder who could be part of their setup for years to come. Junior is undoubtedly a talented player, but his success will depend on how he is treated by the Ligue 2 club.
The player tried to sign for Clermont in the summer but he was blocked by the LFP in doing so.
