Football News understands that AS Monaco striker Lacina Traoré’s proposed loan move to Everton could be frozen and the player may return to play an active part in the newly-promoted side’s Ligue 1 campaign.
According to a source close to the player, AS Monaco are currently deciding to whether or not to call of the player’s move to Premier League side Everton after this evening’s injury to Falcao; who is feared, at worst, to have suffered an ACL injury to his left knee, which would keep him out for many months.
None of the speculation with regards to Falcao’s injury status can currently be verified and the player is due more tests tomorrow and on Friday in Monaco to assess its true nature after being challenged late by a Chasselay defender during AS Monaco’s Coupe de France clash with the amateur side this evening.
Lacina Traoré’s move to Everton at the early part of this evening was virtually complete as the side had in theory reached an agreement for the loan fee, although certain specifics had yet to be finalised. Falcao’s injury could throw a huge spanner into the works but for tonight, we must wait for Monaco to make the decision.
If Everton are given the green light, then the transfer could be official shortly.
