Sky Sports report that Leicester City of the Championship have agreed a fee with Le Havre for the transfer of winger Riyad Mahrez.
The 22 year old Algerian plays on the right hand side and has played nineteen games for the Ligue 2 side this season, scoring five goals. The player was set to be out of contract in the summer and the agreed fee is believed to be €800k including future bonuses.
We understand that contract negotiations are at an advanced stage and this deal could be wrapped up in the near future given no mishap. The player is expected to sign either a three and a half or four and a half year deal.
Mahrez appears to be the latest of Le Havre’s young talents to be leaving the club after Benjamin Mendy and El-Hadji Ba left in the summer.
We understand that the player has now said goodbye to his team-mates and is in transit for a medical with Leicester City.
France Football were claiming Leicester and Le Havre have had a fallout over the transfer fee for Riyad Mahrez, but we understand that these issues will be resolved. More to follow in the near future.
