Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers refused to enter into the specifics over why exactly French striker Loic Remy’s move to Liverpool collapsed yesterday.
He had the following to say: “It’s unfortunate for the player – we’re obviously disappointed – but there’s nothing more to be said. We move onto other targets.”
According to Sky Sports, who earlier reported that Loic Remy had failed his medical with Liverpool, the reason why the move failed to go through was that Fabio Borini was refusing to leave the club and free up the funds to sanction the transfer.
The player is reportedly close to a permanent move to Sunderland.
