Football News has learnt that talks were held today between Napoli representatives and Maxime Gonalons’ agent to discuss the central midfielder’s possible summer transfer.
These reports come after the Lyon captain’s agent said a move was “80%” likely. Rafael Benitez, the Napoli manager remains in regular contact with the player and the Italian club have decided to return for the OL man despite failed bids in January.
Lyon President Jean Michel Aulas has admitted that, if the conditions are right, he will let Gonalons leave.
The Frenchman still has aspirations of making the French World Cup squad and at present the only side to show serious interest in his services are the Serie A club.
