Football News understands that QPR have had their second formal offer rejected by Auxerre for Paul Georges Ntep in recent hours but that the French youth international has preliminarily agreed a contract with the Championship side.
It remains to be seen whether or not QPR will be able to meet Auxerre’s €7m-€8m evaluation of the player as we enter the final week of the transfer window.
Auxerre President Guy Cortet has warned that Ntep’s asking price will not change, and that he is in no hurry to sell the starlet. He has also confirmed that another club currently playing Champions League football had entered into ‘promising’ negotiations to sign the player but Ntep is understood not be interested in this.
Football News is able to confirm Le 10 Sport reports that the Champions League side is Bundesliga club Schalke.
Ntep’s agent has insisted to Auxerre President Guy Cortet that his client is set on QPR and has urged the Ligue 2 side boss to make an effort for the move to happen.
QPR will have discussions with Auxerre representatives tomorrow and have yet to give up on this transfer.
