Football News understands that Toulouse right-back Serge Aurier has given his agreement in principle to join Arsenal this summer, if the two clubs can come to an understanding.
The player was first made aware of Arsenal’s interest several months ago and has already begun contract negotiations with the club through his agent. The two parties have begun structuring a 5-year deal.
Arsenal and Toulouse have opened discussions about a possible transfer fee, although that process is far from completion.
Aurier, 21, has been pre-selected in Ivory Coast’s 28-man World Cup Squad and is fully expected to be in Brazil in a month’s time.
At the current rate of negotiations, the deal with Arsenal is very unlikely to be complete before the World Cup and it is perhaps more likely that Aurier waits until after the tournament is complete, evaluating his options one last time, before fully agreeing to a move to the North London club.
