GFFN can report that Bordeaux have stepped their foot on the gas in the search for a new striker this January.
They are continuing their talks with the Malmö forward Isaac Thelin after their initial bid, believed to be in the 1.5-2 million range, was rejected. It is also understood that the deal could potentially turn into a loan deal with the option to buy at the end of the season.
The Hull City striker, Yannick Sagbo, has also been offered to them but there are questions in the Bordeaux camp over the quality of this player. Hull City are currently light on strikers with only 3 other attacking options in their current squad but Sagbo would be free to leave in the summer.
L’Équipe are reporting this morning that Bordeaux have now reached an agreement with Malmö for a transfer valued at €3.2m of Isaac Thelin. A Bordeaux representative was in Sweden yesterday to clinch the deal. The player has yet to agree personal terms with Bordeaux however, but could be expected in Bordeaux to thrash out a contract as early as today.
