Form Guide: SM Caen vs AS Monaco (10/04/15)

Friday: Caen (12th) vs Monaco (4th) (19:30 GMT)

Caen will be aiming to dent Monaco’s hopes of a top-three finish when the teams meet at the Stade Michel d’Ornano on Friday evening. The hosts head into this match on the back of a 2-1 victory away at Nantes last weekend, a result that ended their three game winless run in the league. This game will certainly be more of a challenge for Patrice Garande’s men, but he will be hopeful of taking at least a point to aid their quest of a top-half finish.

Monaco, meanwhile, haven’t had the best of weeks, as consecutive draws against St Etienne last weekend and Montpellier on Tuesday have all but ended their hopes of a late title challenge. However, qualification for next season’s Champions League is certainly still a realistic prospect, with Leonardo Jardim’s side sitting just two points behind third-placed Marseille. After two disappointing results though, Monaco need to take maximum points from this one.

– Caen have scored 46 goals in the league this season, the most of any team outside of the top three.

– They also have the second-worst home record in the division this campaign, picking up just 18 points from 15 games. Only Lens have a worse record.

– Monaco have lost just one of their last 16 league outings.

– They haven’t won an away league game this season in which they conceded the first goal.

– In the reverse fixture in Week 14, these two teams drew 2-2 at the Stade Louis II.
