Marseille’s club doctor has confirmed that Abou Diaby has suffered a fresh injury setback, a slight calf problem.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Christophe Baudot had the following to say as to why Abou Diaby did not participate in today’s match against the reserve team:
“Abou had not fully recovered from his training sessions this week (calf problem). Today, the club therefore preferred to play it safe by focusing on the continuity of his sessions. He therefore trained aside from the squad with the medical staff in the late morning. He will continue training with the first team next week.”
It is now not believed that the player will make the squad for the next Ligue 1 match against St Étienne after the international break.
