Bordeaux central defender Lamine Sané is in discussions with Aston Villa over a possible move, as first reported by our colleagues at Foot 365.
Bordeaux President Jean Louis Triaud has confirmed to our colleagues at Sud Ouest that the Premier League side have entered into contact with the Ligue 1 club for Lamine Sané, who also an oral offer from Besiktas.
At first it looked like the deal would be a loan, but as discussions have go on this afternoon, it appears that Sané would even be willing to join Aston Villa on a permanent transfer.
The player asked Bordeaux manager Willy Sagnol in December if he could leave this month.
Nothing is expected to be agreed today, according to sources cited by L’Équipe, contrary to claims from Sud Ouest that a deal could be reached in the coming hours.
What is likely however is that we will know by tomorrow morning if the deal that will be negotiated will be either a loan with an option or a straight transfer.
Sané to Aston Villa: a possibility, but it won’t be complete tonight.
