According to multiple sources contacted by Football News, Arsenal have not placed a bid for Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez.
Riyad Mahrez is however likely to leave Claudio Ranieri’s men before the new Premier League season starts with the current situation as it is at the time of writing.
Arsenal have held talks with the player’s representatives and remain in contact, as first revealed by Nabil Djellit of France Football back in May.
Five clubs are currently vying for the player’s signature: Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, according to reliable Foot Mercato journalist Khaled Karouri.
More undoubtedly to follow in the coming days, as the Leicester City floodgates begin to open with stars of the 2015/16 campaign having their heads turned by more lucrative contracts and more prestigious clubs.
