Speaking in an interview with RMC, Manchester City attacking midfielder Bernardo Silva discussed his recent transfer from AS Monaco.
“It was not easy to quit Monaco because I have had some very good seasons. I want to thank everyone over there. They have given me the opportunity to play at the very highest level. But after this very good season, I wanted to try something different. It is good to do it after this league title. I am very happy to have been able to give this to the club and their supporters.”
“When I knew I had the opportunity to play in the Premier League, to be managed by Guardiola and to play alongside players like De Bruyne, Agüero and Silva, I could not refuse it. It was also a good offer for Monaco (€50m plus €20m in bonuses). I am very happy. I will be playing in the best league in the world.”
“We (Guardiola & I) spoke for a dozen or so minutes after signing my contact. He explained things to me a little. He told me that I will need to adapt to the league, to this club. He told me in which position he wants me to play. He sees me on the right or in the middle. I can play in both positions. But I can also play on the left if required.”
