Ligue 1 side Lyon have made serious progress in the fight for Angers forward Nicolas Pépé this weekend, according to Ouest France.
The 22-year-old will be allowed to leave SCO this summer, with a myriad of clubs interested including Marseille, Nice, Lille and Newcastle.
The local media outlet claims that Lyon have landed in pole position after a weekend of wooing the player in question. A deal could even be closed next week.
Foot Mercato however claim that in terms of negotiations with Angers, it is Lille who lead the way and the two clubs are only a couple of minor details away from an agreement.
More undoubtedly to follow in the coming days…
