Moussa Sissoko would prefer to remain in the Premier League over Marseille move

French international midfielder Moussa Sissoko would prefer to remain in the Premier League if he is forced out of Tottenham Hotspur, rather than making a move to interested party Marseille, according to France Football.

Spurs, who signed the player in a disastrous summer transfer window deadline day move last year, have left the player off their tour of the United States, citing “elevated levels of oxygen in a muscle” when the player asked for an explanation, according to L’Équipe.

The online edition of the magazine believes that Tottenham would be willing to send the player on loan with an option to buy, Marseille’s preferred scenario, if there are no good permanent transfer offers this summer. However, Spurs would prefer to sell him outright if possible.

Both Sissoko and Tottenham are therefore, for now, biding their time. Sissoko is waiting for Premier League interest, Tottenham are waiting for concrete permanent transfer offers, which is not something that Marseille are currently willing to provide.
