Newcastle, Lazio & AC Milan position themselves for Maxime Gonalons

Lyon captain Maxime Gonalons appears to be heading for the exit door this summer after a disappointing 2016/17 campaign and a relationship with Lyon President Aulas that is deteriorating, according to L’Équipe.

The player is available for about €5m and has received interest from Newcastle United and Rafa Benitez, who already tried to sign him at Napoli, as well as Lazio and AC Milan, although he is not the latter club’s priority in the defensive midfield position, despite a meeting taking place with Gonalons’ representatives.

Although Marseille have discreetly enquired for Gonalons, the Frenchman does not see himself moving to another Ligue 1 club.
