Guingamp midfielder Nicolas Benezet has extended his contract by one year until June 2020, it was announced yesterday.
The extension will be welcome news to his club and manager Antoine Kombouaré, as his previous deal had been due to expire at the end of next season.
Having arrived from Evian three years ago, the 27-year-old attacking midfielder initially struggled in his first two seasons for playing time.
However, last season the versatile Benezet became a more significant asset to the Breton club, scoring 3 goals and contributing 4 assists from his 13 appearances in Ligue 1.
Kombouaré will be hoping Benezet maintains his positive influence to Guingamp next season, having enjoyed the relative stability of a 12th place finish in Ligue 1 this campaign.
