FC Metz have completed the signing of striker Adama Traoré from Congolese side TP Mazembe.
The 23-year-old – who tends to be deployed on the left side of the attack – moves to the Stade Saint-Symphorien on a four-year contract.
Traoré had been a prominent presence for TP Mazembe; since joining the Congolese side in 2013, the Malian forward has played over 150 games and was part of the team that won a collection of honors; including three national championships – in 2014, 2016 and 2017 – two CAF Cups as well as the African Champions League in 2015.
Manager Frédéric Antonetti will be hoping that the Bamako-born Traoré will provide a predatory goal-scoring and creative presence for Metz, who suffered relegation into Ligue 2 last season, having only mustered a modest 34 league goals in 38 games.
