Speaking in an interview with Téléfoot this morning, Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte discussed the Premier League title race, his absence from the French national team and more.
On the Premier League:
When you win nearly all your matches, you think that you are in truly great team. It has to continue, we must try to win everything. That is what we want here. Pep is making that clear to us too. To be amongst the best in the league, it’s an important achievement. I hope that the year will finish beautifully with several titles.
On if Manchester City are better than Liverpool:
I would say yes, but it will play out on small details. Liverpool have a very good squad, but I hope that we will make the difference. I am here to win all the possible titles, the Champions’ League included. The aim, is to go all the way.
On his absence from the French national team:
I am dealing with it, I don’t have any other option. I am missing out, yes, because I played for all the youth categories, I was captain, But what is important today is the club and I am concentrated on that. I have not yet been lucky enough to play for the French national team and I am concentrating on Manchester. If I get called up, I will be very happy, it is a dream. Pep Guardiola was very surprised that I was not called up this season, but we have not discussed it.
