Gladbach forward Alassane Pléa a priority for Dalian Yifang

L’Équipe report this afternoon that French international and Gladbach forward Alassane Pléa has emerged as a transfer window priority for Chinese Super League outfit Dalian Yifang.

After attempting to sign Dimitri Payet earlier on in the window Dalian Yifang have turned their attentions to 25-year-old and they had representatives present at Gladbach vs Augsburg (2-0) yesterday to meet the German club’s board.

The Chinese club have begun the negotiations at €40m – Gladbach are aware of the potential resale value they could make out of this deal in what would be the biggest transfer in their history.

Dalian Yifang’s interest in Gladbach’s top scorer in the Frenchman has been solid for several weeks and is connected to the discussions they held with Leonardo Jardim, who they offered €28m salary on a two year contract to. The Portuguese tactician had placed Pléa on his shortlist of targets were he to take over the Chinese club. Jardim already wanted Pléa at AS Monaco last summer and although the Chinese side did not win over Jardim, they maintain an interest in Pléa.

The contract on offer to the Frenchman is described as “astronomical” – a 5-year deal. Dalian Yifang are still seeking to rid of Yannick Ferreira Carrasco, and intend for Pléa to replace him.

Their next bid is likely to be worth more than €50m, and at that level, Gladbach will likely crack and seek to sell.
