Premier League side Manchester United have indeed made a formal bid to Ligue 1 side Lyon for 22-year-old French youth international striker Moussa Dembélé, to the tune of €46m, according to sources contacted by Football News.
Our colleague Benjamin Quarez first reported the story earlier this afternoon, claiming that the Red Devils have already approached the player’s former managers and team-mates to get a flavour of his character, with Manchester United club ambassador Eric Cantona understood to be pushing the deal internally.
The question is will Lyon sell? Contacted by Football News this evening, a source close to the Ligue 1 side claimed that a deal “was not on the agenda,” but OL have yet to respond to the bid made by the Manchester club, as reported by our colleagues at Euro United earlier today.
