Ligue 2 strugglers’ Sochaux busy end to the January transfer window continues as they have today announced the signing of young Marseille defender Christopher Rocchia on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old Rocchia, who is a graduate of Marseille’s youth academy and has a contract at the Stade Vélodromeuntil 2021, has made nine appearances since his professional debut in the Europa League game against Eintracht Frankfurt on 29 November 2018.
The left-back is expected to gain further first-team experience in Sochaux’s bid to fight the drop to the French third tier before he will be seen as any sort of natural replacement for Jordan Amavi at Marseille.
Rocchia will wear the no. 3 shirt at the Stade Auguste Bonal for the remainder of the season.
