Stade Rennes FC have announced the signing of Monaco goalkeeper Loïc Badiashile on loan.
The 20-year-old stopper signs a deal at Roazhon Park until the end of the season on a deal that stipulates an option to purchase.
Despite making his professional debut for Monaco in a 2016 Champions League qualifier against Fenerbahce, Badiashile has been unable to usurp Danijel Subašić to become first-choice between the Stade Louis II posts.
“First of all, I would like to thank President Olivier Létang for the trust he gives me. It’s a pleasure to join the Rouge et Noir. This is a new challenge for me. Stade Rennais F.C. is an ambitious club and with a team composed of quality players”, said Badiashile in a Q&A interview published on the club website.
Badiashile will compete with fellow Rennes stoppers’ Tomáš Koubek and Abdoulaye Diallo for the first-choice goalkeeper birth.
